It’s been a hectic few months so apologies for not updating this sooner. We’ve been working on a project that is a bit larger than normal – a 26′ x 10′ cabin clad in charred larch (shou-sugi-ban) – as well as looking stunning this gives the timber fantastic preservative qualities. This cabin has been designed around the client’s specification which has been a fantastic journey – the interior really evolved into the finished article. I dread to think how many WhatsApp messages were exchanged as we built this without actually ever meeting in person!!
The finished cabin is unique, as our delivery driver commented ‘am I taking it to Oregon?’, yet with the art-deco inspired interior it could be at home on Long Island. Fortunately for us we won’t need a long-haul flight to go and stay in it – just a short hop over the Severn bridge to the Somerset Levels.
